Please use this space to discuss the topics from Thursday nights, or to submit questions for discussion. This week: “What’s Love?”

love is bliss and pain in the same emotion

Joy can come in all circumstances, as stated in James 1. I certainly think pain is very real, and it is something that life brings in unequal amounts to people. I am not as certain about your idea of bliss. Do you equate joy with bliss?

actual questions are rare with me. usually i just blame myself for whatever fault i’ve reached and continue on my apathetic, disapointing existence.

Apathetic? I’ve never known you to be apathetic. I’ll give you a call.

    What is Love? 1 Cor.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

    8Love never fails.

    Now look at this.

“God is Love” 1 John 4:8

so… if God is love than that means that…

God is patient, God is kind. God does not envy, God does not boast, God is not proud. God is not rude, God is not self-seeking, God is not easily angered, God keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

    GOD NEVER FAILS!!!

Isn’t it wonderful knowing not just what love is, but who love is. Love is unending, unfailing, and forgiving!

The camp lessons will address all facets of love. God is more than agape love as we understand it, but we will seek to understand how He can be jealous and judging while still being “love”. Great thoughts, Alyssa!
